Webinar – Local Government and Product Stewardship

Video & resources from the March 2022 webinar.

Local government and product stewardship

The centre’s next webinar on Thursday, 24 March at 3:00pm (AEDT) will explore the active and varied role in product stewardship that local councils play in the stewardship ecosystem.

The webinar will cover what makes a strong positive relationship between product stewardship initiatives and local councils, how to get there and what to avoid.

Our two guest speakers are Rebecca Brown, Manager Waste and Recycling with the Western Australia Local Government Association (WALGA) and Dominique Doyle, General Manager of Agsafe, which is responsible for drumMUSTER and ChemClear.

Rebecca and Dominique will discuss their lived experience and operational insights, including the different mechanisms that can effectively shift the responsibility upstream away from councils while still maintaining their enthusiastic participation.

As always, our webinar will conclude with an opportunity for participants to ask questions and discuss relevant issues.

The event will seek to address many of the common queries and misunderstandings associated who should apply and the application process.

Previous Webinar: Role and Value of Product Stewardship

This webinar introduces Product Stewardship, its value and role, and how it can be applied to help cut waste and address a range of other impacts and issues. It also introduces the Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence and outline our program for 2021.

The content of the webinar is relevant to organisations doing, supporting or promoting Product Stewardship in Australia. It is equally relevant to industry-wide schemes and programs, as it is to company-level product stewardship services being developed and implemented by individual businesses.

Whether you’re curious about how and where Product Stewardship can help Australia transition to a circular economy or in Product Stewardship opportunities and interventions across the supply chain and product life cycle, there is something in this webinar for you.
