A Digital Marketplace for People in Need

As Australia and the world grapple with transitioning towards a circular economy, we face challenges like radically reducing emissions, supply chain disruptions, natural resource depletion, product & supply chain redesign, accelerated resource recovery, renewable energy infrastructure at scale, land regeneration and designing to meet our basic housing/ food/ health/ education/ product/ living needs throughout all our life stages.

Many are looking for innovative and immediate ways to reduce unnecessary waste and ensure our basic community needs can be met. Implicit in this innovation are social networks, relationships, connections and collaboration to shift and transform the systems we live in at large. How these systems evolve is the responsibility of all of us to reimagine and redesign the systems we live in, so these may be life affirming, generative and in harmony with nature rather than depletive and extractive.

As an example, in Australia there is a staggering $2.5 billion of unsold household goods (non-food) wasted every year and at the same time 1 in 8 Australians are living below the poverty line. It’s difficult to imagine the scale of this surplus while so many are struggling to afford the most basic essentials. Good360 Australia is a nonprofit who seeks to bridge this gap, by connecting business surplus goods with community need through a network of charities and disadvantaged schools across the country.

Good360 is a connector and the largest digital marketplace in Australia for businesses to donate unused and unsold (non-food) consumer goods to people in need. We transform lives by delivering hope and dignity to people who may be struggling to make ends meet whether due to natural disasters, domestic violence or insufficient income caused by a growing cost of living.

Since its launch in Australia in 2015, Good360 has distributed over 43 million items valued at more than $480M to 4 million people via its member network of 4,700 charities and disadvantaged schools Australia-wide and diverting more than 7,500 Tonnes of waste/landfill. Good360 is supporting on average 15,000 people every week Australia-wide with everyday items, including toiletries, toys, clothing, whitegoods & furniture, cleaning and PPE, homewares, school supplies, electronics and refurbished digital devices which are used as tools for transformation for education and employment.

Governments, businesses and product stewardship partners can all leverage the expertise and proven track record of Good360 Australia, to keep products at their highest value, significantly reduce waste, increase reuse rates, save taxpayer dollars, and ensure that material aid reaches the people who need it most. This innovative approach not only supports people in our community but also addresses key policy goals by reducing waste, lowering carbon emissions, and creating a more resilient and connected community.

If your organisation and/or your suppliers are focused on delivering tangible and measurable environmental and social outcomes and would like to join Good360’s Circle of Good to reduce need and waste, please reach out to the Good360 team on corporatepartnerships@good360.org.au to discuss a program to support your needs.
